There is no shortage of personal development and success education material out there. There are no shortage of How to and Fitness magazines out there. So why aren’t more people successful? Two words; ‘action’ and ‘integrity’. Many people know how to but only about 10% of people actually take the actions necessary and few have the resilience to stay the course. If you’d like to find yourself in the 10% perhaps we should talk.
A survey by the Association Resources Centre and PWC, 2,165 coaching clients from 64 countries reported improvements in:
- Self-esteem/self-confidence (80%)
- Communication skills (72%)
- Interpersonal skills (71%)
- Work performance (70%)
- Relationships (73%)
- Work-life balance (63%)
In the fields of personal development and leadership training we learn that life does have an instruction manual. We learn through the application of universally accepted success principles that there is a roadmap to success. We know that this roadmap and these success principles are duplicatable by anyone and deliver consistent results when applied. We know this because every person who has applied them with consistency and desire has become a success in their own lives with scientific regularity. When people create such success in their lives they become leaders. Effortlessly, people will follow them through attraction rather than promotion.
The ability to create vision is an integral part of leadership training and the ability to enroll people in that vision is a leadership trait. To be assertive without being pushy is a leadership skill and to be noticed increases your chances of career advancement while maintaining the work life balance.
Personal development is exactly that, the development of the person and personal development is a life-long activity, it is asymptote (if you remember your calculus, it’s a line that continually approaches a given curve but does not meet it at any finite distance.) This is the reason for the great quote by Zig Ziglar;
“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.”
This is where the practice of Executive Coaching and Life Coaching come in to play, they are the continuous practice of self motivation and the implementation of tools and success principles that bring about personal development and success in whatever area of your life you choose to apply them.
‘Is happiness to be acquired by learning, by habit, or some other form of training? It seems to come as a result of virtue and some process of learning and to be among the godlike things since its end is godlike and blessed.‘ Aristotle
